Cravath’s longtime private equity leader is leaving for Sidley Austin as the firm continues to stockpile deals lawyers.
David Perkins exits after two decades at Cravath, where he advised the likes of Brookfield Renewable Partners and American Securities. The move is a rare partner departure for the Wall Street law firm in a hot market for top-flight rainmakers.
Sidley poached Jones Day’s David Grubman in January, making him co-head of its M&A group, and has picked up partners from rivals Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Weil Gosthal & Manges.
